Pacifica sliding doors won't open: the module filled with water
Power side doors stuck on a family minivan easily generate quotes of $1,500 to $2,200 at the dealership: cable drive motors, electronic latches and module. Before any of that, it's worth looking inside the rear quarter panel, because that's usually where the water is and where the module is too.

Neither the overhead buttons, nor the B-pillar buttons, nor the key fob move the doors: the module receiving all three commands is the same one, and it stopped responding.
How the quarter panel cavity floods
On the Pacifica, door movement is managed by dedicated modules built by Continental or Brose, housed in the blind space between the outer rear quarter panel skin and the interior trim. That cavity receives water running down from the sunroof channels and the liftgate edges, and at the base of the body there's a small rubber flap valve meant to expel it.
In Miami that flap seals shut with dust, sand and pollen. Rainwater stays trapped at the bottom and the cavity becomes a pool. The module is mounted exactly in that low area: it has a plastic housing, but the water level rises and gets in through the connector seals. And since it takes direct battery power to drive 30-amp motors, the damage starts immediately.
From there two separate things fail. The water sulfates the signal lines of the motor position sensors and the anti-pinch strips, and the computer believes there's an obstacle. Meanwhile the H-bridge transistors — the ones that reverse polarity to open and close — take a cross short induced by the electrolyte, short to ground, burn their copper traces and leave the clutch locked.
