StabiliTrak lights up at noon and clears at night: it's the EBCM
A dealer quote to diagnose and replace the EBCM on a GMC Yukon, a Chevy Tahoe or a Silverado routinely clears $1,500, because the dealership insists on buying the complete hydraulic block along with the computer and adding the bleeding hours. But the pattern of this fault — it shows up with heat and disappears as things cool — rules out a burned component on its own.

Flawless cold start
With the board contracted the micro-cracks still make contact and the pedal behaves perfectly normally.
The code says pump, but the pump is fine
At a general shop the scanner reads C0110, pump motor failure, and the logical — but wrong — deduction is that the hydraulic motor burned out. The steel lines come apart, the master cylinder gets drained, and a salvage unit goes in. At the end the system rejects the part because the RPO code doesn't match, and the customer is left with an immobilized truck and a bigger bill.
That RPO detail matters: the EBCM is not a generic interchangeable part. Its internal logic is programmed to the RPO code printed in the glovebox — JL4, for instance, for active brake control systems. Fitting a unit with a different RPO produces an incompatibility error that no software fixes.

The EBCM that Kelsey-Hayes or TRW/ZF build for General Motors is bolted directly to the valve block, exposed to radiant heat from the engine and the exhaust. The board feeds the valve coils and the return pump motor through heavy high-current pins, and those joints use lead-free solder by environmental regulation.
When the engine bay passes 190 °F, the printed circuit board expands at a different rate than the metal connectors. That constant stress creates circular micro-cracks around the power pins. As things expand the crack opens and the circuit breaks; as they cool, it closes. Hence the time-of-day pattern, and hence why a multimeter on a cold truck finds nothing.

We remove the crystallized factory solder by digital vacuum and rebuild the power nodes with a silver-enriched alloy that melts higher and flexes far more under Florida's prolonged heat.
